Ethiopia and Bahrain agree to step up cooperation in trade and investment

Addis Ababa, October 18, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador Awall Wagris, Head of the Ethiopian Consulate General Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Sameer Nass, Chairman of Bahrain’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), held a fruitful discussion on how to improve the flow of trade and investment between the two sister nations.

The ambassador informed the Chairman and his delegation that Ethiopia has one of the world’s fastest-growing economies and is blessed with a climate that is conducive to investment, land that is ideal for farming and raising cattle, and a large labor force. According to the ambassador, these factors have made Ethiopia one of the few nations in the world that make good investment destinations.

Sameer, for his part, asserted that he is sufficiently knowledgeable about Ethiopia’s economic development and that the absence of such discussions is to blame for the inability of Bahrain and Ethiopia to cooperate in the business sphere.

During the conversation, Mr. Sameer requested that the ambassador facilitate collaboration between the two chambers of commerce, and the ambassador responded by confirming that the parties involved will meet and do their part to connect the two nations in the areas of trade and investment.

Several Bahrain Chamber of Commerce representatives attended this discussion and declared that they would help to strengthen trade and investment between the two nations.
