Addis Ababa, July 30, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia has so far planted more than 4.1 billion trees out of the intended 5 billion, attaining 83% of the set target for this year.
The Green Legacy initiative steering committee presented their mid-term performance report this morning in the presence of Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed.
Officially launched on June 5, 2020, this year’s initiative has thus far marked an 83% success rate, said Oumer Hussien, Minister of Agriculture, while presenting the report.
The Prime Minister praised the progress and called on all stakeholders to play their part in ensuring Ethiopia meets the 2020 set target.
He also urged the community to nurture the initiative into being a national culture.
