Addis Ababa, October 20, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia Telecom announced commercial launch of the 5th generation mobile services in Bahir Dar City and the surrounding.
The expansion of the new service has been achieved through the establishment of 5th generation mobile service stations across various areas of the Northwest Region of Bahadar city, according to the company.
“Enterprise and individual customers in Bahir Dar, particularly in areas such as Kebele-4 Tele and Tana areas, Bahir Dar University (Poly), Ethiopian Electric Power head office and Dib Anbessa Hotel, Bahir Dar Main Market, Avanti, Jakaranda and Kuriftu Hotels, and Old bus station can now access the 5th Generation mobile network services,” the company stated.

This has modernized the operations of various institutions and enterprises, streamlined business activities, and improved the day-to-day life of citizens, Ethio Telecom said.

The 5th generation technology is an advanced 5G wireless network that delivers speeds of up to 10 Gb per second (10 Gbs) and features ultra-low latency, reaching as low as 1 millisecond.
