Addis Ababa, April 1, 2021 (FBC) –Ethio-Telecom has launched its LTE Advanced 4G mobile network in Bahir Dar, Finote Selam, Dangla, Enjibara, Bure, Debremarkos and Chagni towns in Amhara regional state.
The new mobile network would increase internet speed in the areas by 14fold, thus creating favourable conditions to easily promote tourist sites, facilitate trade, encourage investment in the regional state, it was noted.
The launching event was attended by Deputy Speaker of Amhara Regional State Council, Werkesemu Mamo, State Minister of Finance, Dr Eyob Tekalign, and Frehiwot Tamru, CEO of Ethio Telecom.
The CEO on the occasion said works were underway to launch 5G networks in Ethiopia by 2022.
