Addis Ababa, January 13, 2025 (FMC) – The Ethio-Djibouti Railway Standard Gauges Share Company, alias known as Ethio-Djibouti Railway (EDR), announced that it has entered the realm of profitability in the last quarter of 2024.
After officiating the company’s comprehensive evaluation of the performance of the 2024 Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway S.C. today, the CEO of EDR Mr. Takele Uma claimed in a social media post that this achievement marks a significant milestone since the company’s operational commencement.
“For the first time since its [EDR] operational commencement, the company has entered the realm of profitability in the last quarter of 2024. This achievement sets the stage for our upcoming three-year strategic plan aimed at transforming the company into a profitable venture.”
Engineer Takele also extended his gratitude to all individuals involved from both Djibouti and Ethiopian sides who have contributed to this success. “A special commendation goes out to our dedicated staff members, whose tireless efforts have been instrumental in reaching this pivotal moment.”
