(Parliament News) December 8, 2023; The Ethio-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia made a working visit to Azerbaijan.
The delegation led by the Chairwoman of the friendship group, Bethlehem Lakew, traveled to Azerbaijan for a two-day working visit.
Bethlehem stated that the main purpose of the visit is to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries through parliamentary diplomacy and economic relations as well as to establish cooperation in various fields.
Reminding that the friendship between the two countries is longstanding, the Chairwoman mentioned that the cooperation in the fields of diplomacy, culture, tourism, trade and investment will continue to be strengthened.
During the visit, the delegates had a discussion with Prof. Reshad Mahmudov, who is the co-chairperson of the Ethio-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group and the vice chairperson of the health care committee.
In the discussion, it was stated that there is a need to strengthen the friendship group of the two countries in order to create strong economic, social and political ties that will maintain the bilateral relations and exchange experience in various professional fields.
The friendship group participated in the Azerbaijan Community Conference, it was indicated.
The delegation also met and discussed with Yalchin Rafier, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The deputy minister said that he will pay close attention to the Ethio-Azerbaijani issue as he oversees the bilateral portfolio of African and Middle Eastern countries.
