Addis Ababa, April 20, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) and French Embassy in Addis Ababa held a discussion on access of humanitarian assistance in Ethiopia.
According to ERCS, officials led by Seifu Getahun, Board Member and Chairman of the Resource Mobilization Committee of ERCS, held a thorough discussion on the areas of cooperation in humanitarian aid.
During the discussion, the Ethiopian Red Cross Society officials called upon the government of France to support the humanitarian services being provided by the Society, as the number of people seeking humanitarian assistance in Ethiopia is increasing due to natural and man-made disasters.
Sarah Rueda, Regional Global Health Advisor, and Xaver Lhote, International Relations Diplomat, expressed on behalf of the embassy that the government of France is providing humanitarian aid in Ethiopia.
It is stated that the Society’s desire for partnership to make humanitarian aid more accessible, and requested a need assessment to be submitted to the embassy.
In addition, the two sides pledged to associate the two sister national societies to be able to work together.
