Addis Ababa, May 13, 2020 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church Holy Synod is holding its second annual regular session at the patriarchate hall involving participation of Archbishops, Bishops and Heads of Departments at all levels.
In his opening remarks, the Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church, His Holiness Abune Matias said the coronavirus pandemic has brought a period of misery to the church and the public at large calling the clergy to protect the faithful from predicaments.
The Holy Patriarch stressed a need for mutual cooperation among communities to get through challenges posed by the pandemic and other problems faced by the people.
The clergy is in charge of addressing the public through Prayers, Sermons, counseling and mediation while battling with the earthly challenges faced by the public.
The patriarch further appreciated the efforts being exerted by the government and all stakeholders in response to the pandemic.
