Emergency humanitarian assistance being distributed to Tigray Woredas via 44 NGOs

Addis Ababa, October 12, 2021 (FBC) – An Emergency humanitarian assistance is being distributed to several Woredas of Tigray region in participation of 44 relief organizations, National Disaster Risk Management Commission said.

Commission Public Relations Director, Debebe Zewde exclusively told FBC that accusation of some international organizations and media on alleged blockage of assistance to Tigray is unsubstantiated and groundless.

Rather, he said, the government of Ethiopia is working hand in hand with various international partners to speed up humanitarian assistance delivery to people in need in the Tigray region.

He indicated that 18,812 metric ton of food and 6,225 mt of non-food assistance has been transported to Tigray via Semera and distributed to people in need accordingly.

According to the PR Director, 759,235 ltr fuel was delivered to Mekelle as an additional 45,000 ltr of fuel has recently reached the city.
