Addis Ababa, February 10, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Embassy in India, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), organized a meeting yesterday entitled “Ethiopia: African Beacon of Prosperity by 2030”.
The virtual meeting aimed to enhance investment and trade relations between the two countries drawing CEOs and top Indian company leaders from various sectors.
Ambassador Tizita Mulugeta, in her opening remarks, thanked the organizers of the webinar and assured the readiness of the Embassy and staff in supporting Indian investors and business people in their multi-layered economic engagement in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Tizita reiterated that India has been a reliable partner of Ethiopia in trade, investment, and sharing of expertise.
Aspiring to be a leading manufacturing hub in Africa, Ethiopia has continued to offer attractive incentives to manufacturing industries, she said.
Ambassador Tizita pointed out that the economic and legal reforms, including untapped natural resources and a competitive labor force, would help Indian companies to establish their business in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Tizita also explained the advantages of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for Indian companies and industries.
She said AfCFTA provides a larger and more unified market with less restrictive regulations.
Taking all the advantages of investing in Ethiopia into consideration, the ambassador invited the Indian business people to visit and explore investment and trade opportunities in the country.
