Embassy, AFROCOM discuss ways of enhancing trade relations between Ethiopia and Russia

Addis Ababa, March 16, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Ambassador of Ethiopia to Russia, Cham Ugala discussed with Director General of the Coordinating Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AFROCOM), Alexander V. Kopkov on ways of enhancing trade ties between Ethiopia and Russia.

The Deputy Ambassador expressed concern over the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, expressing Ethiopia’s interest for peaceful resolution for the situation between the two countries.

Expressing his appreciation for Russia’s to Ethiopia at various international platforms, the Deputy Ambassador affirmed commitment of the Embassy in enhancing trade ties between the two countries to a higher level.

Alexander V. Kopkov, for his part, recalled that AFROCOM opened its office in Addis Ababa in February this year as part of the efforts to promote Russia’s trade ties with Ethiopia and other African countries.

The AFROCOM Director noted that Russia is ready to strengthen partnership with Ethiopia and the continent Africa at large in the aviation, logistics, finance and trade sectors.
