Addis Ababa January 5, 2023 (FBC) -Ethiopian Electric Utility announced that electric services have been restored to Berahle town, a conflict affected town and its surroundings after two years of power disconnection.
EEU indicated that Berahle town regained electricity which was cut off from the main electric grid for more than two years due to the damage caused to its infrastructure during the conflict.
EEU stated that the town regained its electric service as part of a major effort to restore electricity to the areas of Tigray, Amara and Afar regions that were cut off due to the conflict.
Re-establishment of Electric service was made by the repairing work of high and low voltage power transmission lines and transformers, EEU disclosed.
Maximum efforts are also underway to enable all areas connected to nearest substations, the Utility added.
