Addis Ababa, December 25, 2020 (FBC) – The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced a tentative date for the 6th general elections.
During a consultative forum held with political parties today, the electoral board proposed the elections to be conducted on June 5, 2021.
The board also announced plans to declare final results of the elections from 6-28 June, 2021.
NEBE said the tentative date doesn’t include the election in Tigray regional state. The date for election in Tigray will be announced in the future.
It should be noted that NEBE postponed the elections scheduled for August 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
