Addis Ababa, December 11, 2019 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Embassy in Indonesia said works carried out to clarify the doubt among Asian countries about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) project have yielded results.
Hence, the countries have now a clear understanding of the project that Ethiopia has been building to generate electricity on the principles of equitable utilization and causing of no significant harm, ambassador Dr Admasu Tsegaye told FBC.
He said that the countries are showing interest to assist Ethiopia’s efforts to promote and create regional integration in the Horn of Africa region.
The ambassador further said the comprehensive reforms that Ethiopia has undertaken during the past two years in particular have received international praise, including in Asia.
As a result of the reforms, Asian countries are inspired to further strengthen their relations with the Horn of African nation, according to him.
