Addis Ababa, December 4, 2022 (FBC) – The Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) 24th general assembly has kicked off in Addis Ababa.
It has been stated EAPCCO’s meeting will continue from today to December 9, 2022.
The summit is expected to deliberate on terrorist crimes, illegal trafficking of people and weapons, drugs, animal poaching and other cross-border crimes.
The Ethiopian Federal Police Criminal Investigation Bureau Deputy Commissioner, General Zelalem Mengste, officials of EAPCCO, regional Interpol officials, attachés, police chiefs of each member country are participating in the meeting.
According to the report by Ethiopian News Agency, this is the second time that Ethiopia is hosting EAPCCO’s general assembly.
EAPCCO, which is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, cosists of 14 countries as members.
Its mission is strengthening the cooperation of law enforcement institutions in East African countries, enhancing information exchange, designing a common strategy and establishing peace in the region.
