Addis Ababa, July 3, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLS) said citizens seeking overseas employment particularly as domestic workers in Arabian countries should employ Ethiopia’s Labor Market Information System (E-LMIS) to ensure that their rights are fully protected.
While holding a discussion with stakeholders, the Ministry stated that E-LMIS is instrumental in addressing challenges in the labor market, creating competent workforce and ensuring quality decision making.
The system enables citizens who are seeking jobs overseas to clearly know whom they are working for, how much are they paid, where and how long they will work, among others, according to Labor and Skills Ministry.
E-LMIS provides services in 5 Ethiopian languages; Amharic, Oromo, Tigrigna, Afar and Somali, and is a system designed to provide voice services to the blind.
Furthermore, the system is helping bother overseas employers and job seekers to keep connected online based on their preferences.
