Addis Ababa, July 12, 2023 (FBC) – As part of Ethiopia’s Green legacy Initiative, a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen together with the Ethiopian Embassy staff in Kenya have planted seedlings at the Premises of the Embassy.
According to the Ethiopian Embassy in Kenya, DPM & FM Demeke has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya to participate in the 43rd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union Commission (AUC).
The 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms meeting is scheduled to take place from 13th -16th July 2023in Nairobi, Kenya.
It is to be recall that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed launched the second phase of Green Legacy Initiative, themed “Let’s plant our future today”.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the first phase of the Green Legacy Initiative was successful in which Ethiopia managed to plant 25billion seedlings.
He disclosed that the country has set sights to plant another 25 billion seedlings in the second phase of the Green Legacy Initiative.
