Djibouti PD delegation plants seedlings in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, July 5, 2023 (FBC) – The Djibouti Public Diplomacy Delegation as part of its engagements in Green Legacy season planted seedlings at ICT Park in Addis Ababa.

It is stated that, the planting of seedlings conducted in the presence of Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonen.

Speaking at the occation, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen,  lauded the momentous occasion as it denotes a historic landmark demonstrative of the reaffirmation of the strong commitments of the Governments of Ethiopia and Djibouti.

“We have taken effective steps towards building a greener and more sustainable environment by partaking in the Green Legacy Initiative”, he added.

Demeke said that the joint planting of seedlings in Djibouti in 2022 showcases the joint dedication of the two brotherly countries towards championing a greener landscape and building stronger ties grounded on green diplomacy.

Siraj Omar Abdulkader, Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior of Djibouti also expressed his delegation’s gratitude for the warm hospitality and being part of this historic occasion geared towards affecting a sustainable future in the region.

A Green Legacy Initiative tree planting ceremony was conducted at the Bole Lemmi ICT Park earlier this afternoon with the participation of the visiting Djiboutian Public Diplomacy Delegation of the Second Ethio-Djibouti Family Summer Train Trip.
