Addis Ababa, January 22, 2021 (FBC) –The Ministry of Health said distribution of medical supplies worth over 71 million birr is underway in Tigray regional state.
The medical supplies are being dispersed to hospital and health centers in collaboration with humanitarian organizations and development partners, it said.
In addition to distribution of medicines, the Ministry is providing technical assistance, including ambulance and financial support, to health facilities.
Minister of Health, Dr Lia Tadesse and State Minister of Health, Dr Dereje Duguma, were part of the delegation led by Muferihat Kamil, Minister of Peace, who recently visited Mekelle to review the emergency response process in the region.
During the visit, the ministers held discussion with the interim administration giving priority to health issues that need rapid responses, according to the Ministry.
The delegation also assessed the progress of distribution of humanitarian assistance, provision of medical and social services, and the general rehabilitation process.
