Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone Commences Full Operations

Addis Ababa, November 12, 2024 (FBC) – The Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone has officially begun full operations, according to the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC).

Fisseha Yitagessu, CEO of IPDC, made the announcement during a visit with investors currently in the process of securing licenses from the Ethiopian Investment Commission to commence their activities within the zone.

IPDC reports that stakeholders have focused their efforts over the past three months to bring the free trade zone to this operational stage.

The Ethiopian Investment Commission has assured that all requisite support will be extended to investors wishing to enter the free trade zone and launch their businesses.

Additionally, the National Free Trade Zone Implementation Committee, which is comprised of senior government officials, has been closely monitoring the operations of the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone to ensure its successful implementation.
