Addis Ababa, July 7, 2024 (FBC) – In a historic event, thousands of Ethiopians have come together to participate in a nationwide peace run organized by the Ministry of Peace and other stakeholders, under the rallying cry “All for Peace, Peace for All.” The initiative aims to promote peace and unity across the country.
A diverse group of international diplomats, the Mayor of Addis Ababa Adanech Abiebie, Minister of Peace Binalf Andualem, and top-ranking federal officials joined with prominent athletes to participate in the Peace Race.
The event was marked by a critical message from Minister Binalf Andualem, who emphasized that peace is paramount for Ethiopia’s continued progress across all sectors.
“Above all else, Ethiopia needs peace to build on its achievements,” he stated, highlighting the primary purpose of the Peace Race as a reminder of the nation’s collective desire for peace.
The grand event has also been taking place in major towns across the country, bringing together government officials, diplomats, residents, and various segments of the community.
Addis Ababa’s Mayor, Adanech Abiebie, who took part in the run, praised the event for fostering a sense of unity among participants. “Together We Sustain Our Peace,” she emphasized, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in achieving lasting peace.
The nationwide peace run is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable peace in Ethiopia. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the value of peace and encourage individuals to play their part in building a peaceful society.
