Addis Ababa, August 10, 2021 (FBC) – The Ethiopian diaspora has remitted 3.6 Billion USD in the current fiscal year, despite the global economic slowdown due to COVID 19 pandemic.

The remittance equated the revenue the nation earned from export trade, it is the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency (EDA) stated.
EDA Director- General Selamawit Dawit told EPA that the Agency has carried out meticulous tasks to encourage the Diaspora to send the foreign currency through legal channels thereby backing the country’s development and easing the forex crunch.
