Addis Ababa, June 6, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, D.C., has called on members of the Diaspora to continue their unwavering support for the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The embassy reminded that the project has reached its final stage, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Ethiopians both at home and abroad.
The embassy also announced that the Diaspora has been actively involved in various activities such as public diplomacy and advocacy, knowledge and skills transfer, and resource mobilization to further expedite the construction of the Dam.
As a significant amount of foreign currency is required to complete the remaining construction works and bring the Dam into full operation, the embassy has called on the Diaspora to continue their support through a digital platform recently developed by the Ethiopian Commercial Bank (CBE), accessible at https://www.itsmydam.com.
