Addis Ababa, January 21, 2022 (FBC) – A symposium focused on the role of the Diaspora Community in development and peace endeavors in Ethiopia is under way in Gondar City in attendance of high level officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In her opening remarks on the symposium, State Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano lauded the contribution of the Diaspora Community in several parts of the world in defending national interests of Ethiopia in several trying times including external pressures from the western world.
Members of the diaspora community showed their strong solidarity to their homeland particularly when the time the country faced with challenges in the diplomatic sector.
Ambassador Birtukan added that the Diaspora Community has managed to motivate Africans to join the struggle against western pressures in undue pressures against Ethiopia and the continent at large.
The State Minister added that the Diaspora is contributing a lot to social and economic activities in the country apart from their active involvement in the public diplomacy sector.
Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti along with other federal and regional senior officials is attending the symposium under way in Gondar City.
