Addis Ababa, December 12, 2020 (FBC) – A delegation led by Director General of the Diaspora Agency discussed with Ethiopian Communities in Dubai and North Emirates on various issues including the current situation in homeland.
The participants drawn from the Ethiopian Communities include leadership of Ethiopian Community Associations, intellectuals, public figures, among others.
On the occasion, the Ethiopian Consulate General to Dubai and North Emirates, Eyerusalem Amdemariam thanked the Diaspora community for its quick responses for national issues.
Diaspora Agency Director General, Selamawit Dawit, to her part, called up on the Diaspora Community to consolidate efforts putting aside disparities to help Ethiopia achieve its goals in overall development vision.
She explained about the current situation in the country with respect to the belligerent attack of the TPLF Junta against the National Defense Force and the operation undertaken by the government to restore law and order in Tigray, adding that various humanitarian activities are underway in the region to rebuild infrastructure and rehabilitated people affected by the law enforcement operation.
Members of the communities who took part in the discussion also vowed to continue their contribution to national development activities in their knowledge, labor and money regardless of differences.
The Diaspora Communities contributed 50,000 Dirham in support of government’s rehabilitation activities in Tigray Region.
