Addis Ababa, January 23, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment for Africa’s peace and continental economic integration.
He made the remarks yesterday at a panel discussion held at the World Economic Forum (WEF) under the title “Peace Building in Africa.”
Ethiopia will continue its efforts of building sustainable peace and promoting continental economic integration, he said in the meeting which was attended by African leaders.
The Deputy Prime Minister said Ethiopia’s effort to bring peace and regional economic interaction in the Horn of Africa has yielded promising results.
He further said that the country is committed to address challenges facing the ongoing reforms and to build durable peace.
In a related development, Demeke held talks with Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE’s Minister of Economy on the sidelines of the Forum.
The discussion mainly focused on ways to further elevate the economic ties between the two countries.
