Deputy Premier officially inaugurates ‘Big 5 Construct Ethiopia’ Exhibition

Addis Ababa, May 30, 2024 (FBC) Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has officially inaugurated an international construction exhibition dubbed “Big 5 Construct Ethiopia 2024’ in Addis Ababa.

Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives, Tagesse Chaffo, the Urban and Infrastructure Minister, Chaltu Sani and other high-ranking government officials have attended the launching ceremony.

The exhibition which aims to promote the construction and infrastructure development through innovative solutions has been co-organized by the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure and the Ethiopian construction works Corporation.

The exhibition is said to showcase the overall development of the construction industry ranging from building services to smart construction technologies.

The ‘Big 5 Construct Ethiopia 2024’ also brings actors of the construction industry and helps reveal the progress, challenges and prospects in the construction sector in Ethiopia.

The exhibition also would help facilitate networking between operators of the construction industry and expand market opportunities in the industry.

There are 24 exhibiting countries including Ethiopia, 156 local and international exhibitors are participating in the exhibition.

Some 22 professional side line panel discussions on the areas of engineering, project management, technology, and infrastructure and building construction are expected to be held during the three day international event.

Over 4,600 visitors are currently registered for the exhibition, according to the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure.

The exhibition which runs from 30 May to 1 June, 2024 at the Millennium Hall brings local and international construction companies, decision makers, facility management professionals and construction management experts from around the world at the Millennium Hall, Addis Ababa.
