Addis Ababa, August 13, 2024 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia Mr. Temesgen Truneh has expressed gratitude to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for its multifaceted support to Ethiopia’s agricultural sector.
The deputy premier published this statement on his social media page after his meeting with FAO’s Chief Economist Maximo Torero at his office in Addis Ababa today.
He confirmed that they have agreed to collaborate on addressing challenges and seizing opportunities on Ethiopia’s agriculture sector.
Mr. Temesgen eventually thanked FAO for its multifaceted support to his country’s agricultural sector.
Note that the FAO Chief Economist is in Addis Ababa ahead of the national agricultural investment forum and exhibition which will be held at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa from August 14 to 15, 2024.
Regarding this event, Torero also met and discussed with Ethiopia’s Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Girma Amente. On the occasion, he commended success of Ethiopia’s agricultural sector, referring it as a benchmark to other African countries.
