Deputy PM says restored National Palace is canvas of Ethiopians’ collective journey

Addis Ababa, January 2, 2025 (FMC) — Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh stated that the renovated National Palace is a canvas of Ethiopians’ collective journey and a reminder that “history’s purpose is to guide us toward unity”.

Mr. Temesgen’s latest remark regarding the recently restored National Palace was posted on his social media channels after meeting with academics, artists, and government officials at the Palace Museum.

Today’s visitors explored the Palace’s stories, which remind us to focus on uniting and inspiring pride despite the scars of history, Temesgen noted.

“This museum is a muse for artists, a guide for scholars, and a legacy supported by the business community. It stands not as a relic of the past, but as a beacon of creativity, cooperation, and shared purpose,” he asserted.

The Deputy Prime Minister added: “More than a museum, it is a canvas of our collective journey, a reminder that history’s purpose is to guide us toward unity, not division. While every nation bears its scars, true strength lies in stories that heal, unite, and inspire pride.”
