Addis Ababa, April 13, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen has met with heads of law enforcement agencies to discuss implementation of state of emergency.
Last week, Ethiopia declared a state of emergency to fight the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), which has so far infected 74 people, killing three others.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need to adhere to World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 guidelines.
He said law enforcement bodies have great responsibilities for the implementation of the emergency decree.
Ethiopia has so registered 74 cases, three deaths and 14 recoveries of the virus.
