Addis Ababa, May 2, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen addressed members of the Diaspora, diplomats via virtual conference held in connection with First Anniversary of Defend Ethiopia Europe Taskforce.
On the occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister called on Ethiopians at home and in the Diaspora to double efforts more than ever before to defend national interests of the country from both domestic and outside threats.
Demeke appreciated the Role of the Defend Ethiopia Europe Taskforce in fending off of undue pressures and echoing the voice of Ethiopia for the international community.
He called for concerted efforts to create a well-organized platform that would help counter disinformation and disinformation on Ethiopia and clarify the realities in the country for the rest of the world.
It is stated on the occasion that the Defend Ethiopia Europe Taskforce is spearheading digital diplomacy campaigns, sending opposition letters to concerned institutions, coordinating peaceful demonstrations and staging online discussions that are contributing their part in defending interests of Ethiopia since its establishment.
