Czech Ambassador highlights macroeconomic reforms as key to attracting foreign investment to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, November 3, 2024 (FBC) – In an exclusive interview with FBC, Miroslav Kosek, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ethiopia, emphasized the crucial role of ongoing macroeconomic reforms in the country for attracting investments and stabilizing the market.

He stated, “I strongly believe that these reforms will significantly boost investment in Ethiopia, motivating European companies to explore opportunities here. The economic changes not only help Ethiopia generate more foreign currency but also enhance the business environment for expanded investment cooperation with countries.”

Ambassador Kosek noted that several Czech companies recently visited Ethiopia, where he engaged with them to discuss potential opportunities. “They gained firsthand insight into how Ethiopia is emerging as a favorable business destination. This is a meaningful step toward strengthening our investment collaboration,” he explained.

He also shared that more Czech companies are set to visit Ethiopia soon, aiming to introduce concrete business projects that will pave the way for long-term engagement in the country.

The Ambassador highlighted the shared interests between Ethiopia and the Czech Republic, stating, “Both nations have products that are in demand in each other’s markets, providing a solid foundation for enhanced business-to-business cooperation.”
