Addis Ababa, July 1, 2022 (FBC) – Women and Social Affairs Minister, Ergoge Tesfaye said the Government of Ethiopia is working to expand the already started corss-border volunteerism program to other countries of Africa in a way to strengthen the Pan-Africanism movement in the continent.
Ethiopia launched the annual cross-border voluntary service program in Dire Dawa City with a plant to involve 19 million youths in voluntarism works in various sectors.
As of next year, Ethiopia will deploy youths for voluntarism activities in neighboring countries so as to expand the initiation in the region thereby bolster the movement of Pan-Africanism.
Last year, 21 million volunteers offered services to 38 million people and helped the nation save 40 million birr that would have been invested for various agricultural activities.
