Addis Ababa, January 24, 2020 (FBC) –The Council of Ministers in its 78th regular session held yesterday, Jan 23, passed decisions on a total of six draft bills.
The Council first deliberated on a bill to legitimize the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council (EIASC). The bill was approved unanimously and sent to the parliament for approval.
The Council also discussed on a bill for the establishment of an artificial intelligence research and development centre, a bill to amend civil aviation law and a bill to establish national coordinated crime prevention strategy.
Moreover, it deliberated on a bill for the establishment of defence engineering corporation and a bill for the development, management and utilization of community watershed.
After the discussion, the Council approved the bills for establishing an artificial intelligence centre, national coordinated crime prevention strategy and defence engineering corporation to come into force.
The bill amending civil aviation law and a bill for the development, management and utilization of community watershed were referred to the parliament for approval.
