Addis Ababa, July 19, 2023 (FBC) – On its 22nd regular meeting, the Council of Ministers of Ethiopia today endorsed 4 different regulations and referred a bill to the House of Peoples’ Representatives for approval with additional inputs.
First, the Council has discussed the proposed regulation on classification and protection of government classified information. Accordingly, the Council approved the regulation to advance the management and utilization of government classified information.
Secondly, the Council discussed the proposed bill regarding security certification and control of information technology products. Hence, the Council has referred the proposed bill to the FDRE House of Peoples’ Representatives for approval with additional inputs.
Then, the Council of Ministers also extensively discussed and unanimously approved a draft regulation of the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority’s staff management. Since the capital market is new to the country and given the complexity of the work, the regulation has been prepared to recruit and manage the staff, to have a balanced labor management and to establish a system that allows the staff to understand their rights and duties and maintain the work responsibilities and discipline required by the sector.
Finally, the Council also discussed on draft regulations proposed for the establishment of Ethio-BioPharma Group and ShieldVax Enterprise. As a result, the council unanimously approved both of the proposed regulations for the establishment of the two separate entities.
The Council stated that all the regulations approved today shall be effective upon the date of their publication on Negarit Gazette.
