The National Rehabilitation Commission is holding a consultation today with private sector stakeholders on various issues pertaining to the DDR Program.

The Chief Commissioner of NRC, Ambassador Teshome Toga, stated that efforts are being made to reintegrate ex-combatants into the society.

In this regard, preparations have been made to reintegrate the disarmed ex-combatants who have accepted the government’s call into the society, the Commissioner said.

He said that the commission is working in coordination with regional governments, civil society organizations, media and various institutions to realize the objectives of the commission.

Following the signing of the Pretoria Peace Agreement to peacefully resolve the 2-year conflict in the northern part of Ethiopia, efforts are being made to reintegrate former fighters to a peaceful life, Teshome said.
