Addis Ababa, April 3, 2021 (FBC) –Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said cloud seeding technology would assist Ethiopia’s agricultural sector.
The Premier made the remark at Ethio-cloud seeding demonstration event organized today at the Entoto Observatory and Research Center to introduce the technology.
After the event, the Prime Minister said “The successful completion of the cloud-seeding demonstration implies that our country’s efforts in hydropower generation and irrigation will be supported by more rain.”
The Prime Minister said avoiding cloud seeding technology would not make a country that is building many irrigation and hydroelectric dams successful.
The technology does not conflict with nature, but it is a means to efficiently exploit natural resources, he said, adding works will be done to improve the livelihood of citizens by expending similar technologies.
“All Ethiopians are expected to work with law enforcement agencies to thwart the plans of criminals who want us to give up our dreams of modernizing our country. The growth of our Ethiopia is the growth of our continent,” he added.
Besides expanding new technologies, the Government is working to ensure the peace and wellbeing of its people, the Prime Minister further indicated.
He said the national defence force and federal police is currently conducting joint operations in eight fronts to clear out anti-peace elements.
