City unveils option to help residents build houses under associations

Addis Ababa, August 30, 2020 (FBC) – The City Council of Addis Ababa has passed a decision aiming at enabling registered residents waiting for condo lot to build houses under associations.

Decision came after the city administration has considered housing problem prevailing in the capital.

Plan mainly targets residents of the city who have registered for 20/80 and 40/60 condo housing schemes.

The option set enables residents to be organized under housing associations and obtain the necessary support such as accommodation of building materials and land to construct residential homes.

Council also decided to procure 400 and repair 125 mass transport buses in a bid to address transportation problems across the city.

The City Council held its 30th regular session and passed various decisions accordingly.
