Addis Ababa, August 9, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) and Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC) have signed Memorandum of Understandings with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to invest in the Jimma Industrial Park.
The MoUs were inked after the visit of higher officials including Chief Commissioner of Ethiopian Investment Commission, Lelise Neme, Industrial Parks Development Corporation CEO Aklilu Tadesse, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Zhao Zhiyuan, as well as delegates of Chinese investors to the Jimma Industrial Park earlier today.
In conformance with the MoU, CCECC will enter Jimma Industrial Park, process coffee beans, export it to international markets, and contribute to the great success of the famous Jimma coffee, it is stated.
It is learned that this project aims to catalyze the transformation of the sector and provide decent jobs.
While visiting the park, the higher officials also planted a seedling at Jimma Industrial Park, it is noted.
Jimma Industrial Park is one of the public-owned industrial parks in Ethiopia that is intended to host multi-sector investment projects and is accessible to both domestic and foreign businesses.
