Addis Ababa, May 6, 2024 (FBC) – High ranking government officials bid farewell to outgoing Chinese Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan who has returned to China completing his mission in Ethiopia.
Commissioner of the Ethiopian Federal Police Commission, Demelash Gebremichael, Chief Administrator of Oromia Regional State, Shimelis Abdissa and State Minister for Finance, Semereta Sewasew, among others, have seen off the outgoing Chinese Ambassador at Bole International Airport.
On the occasion, Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan has commended his tenure in Ethiopia as productive and successful. He added the partnership between Ethiopia and China has reached fifty years, adding that the relationship between the two countries has also transformed into all-weather strategic partnership.
The officials praised the outgoing Ambassador for his success in further cementing the ties between Ethiopia and China in multifaceted areas.
During his tenure, the Ambassador has contributed to successful completion of Chinese projects in Ethiopia.
The officials further commended China’s support for Ethiopia to join the BRICS group, saying this is a testament for the stronger solidarity between the two countries in multifaceted areas of cooperation.
