Addis Ababa, June 20, 2022 (FBC) – China’s special envoy to the Horn of Africa, Xue Bing and other high-level officials of the region are arriving in Addis Abeba to participate in the first peace conference for the Horn of Africa.
The peace conference to be held from 20-21 June 2022 has been facilitated by China which appointed senior diplomat Xue Bing as its new special envoy for the Horn of Africa in February 2022.
Xue has previously worked as China’s Ambassador to Papua New Guinea and has experience working in Africa, America and Oceania. During his visit to the Horn of Africa countries in March 2022, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged that China would play its part in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
