Addis Ababa, January 8, 2025 (FMC) – Following a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Republic of the Congo President Denis Sassou Nguesso on Tuesday, both nations reached broad consensus on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership. They agreed to deepen cooperation and support each other’s core interests, particularly in areas of sovereignty and development, according to Sputnik Africa.
Building on a consensus between their leaders, China and the Republic of Congo will establish a model China-Africa community with a shared future, Wang noted. The countries also pledged to strengthen the role of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, focusing on 10 key partnership action plans.
Furthermore, China and the Republic of Congo pledged to uphold international justice. China emphasized its appreciation for Congo’s role in global affairs, and both nations agreed to jointly support African peace, address climate injustice, promote a multipolar world, and work towards a shared future for humanity.
