Celebration of the 128th Adwa Victory Day begins

Addis Ababa, March 2, 2024 (FBC) – The celebration of the 128th Adwa Victory Day has begun in attendance of residents, high-ranking government officials, members of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), patriots, representatives of the diplomatic community at Piassa, Addis Ababa.

Speaker of the House of Federation, Agegnehu Teshager and Military Advisor of Chief of the General Staff of the ENDF, Lt Gen Alemshet Degifie, Deputy Commissioner General of Federal Police, Zelalem Mengistie and President of Ethiopian Patriots Association, Daniel Jotie have laid wreath of flower at the Pan-African Monument.

The celebration is taking place at Adwa Victory Memorial located at the heart of Addis Ababa in Piassa locality.

Ethiopians mark the Adwa Victory Day in commemoration of the grand victory against the Italian invaders at the battle of Adwa in 1896. Adwa Victory inspired Africans and other people of the world who were under oppression towards struggle for freedom and independence.
