Addis Ababa, December 20, 2022 (FBC) – The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has resumed financial services in Shire, Korem and Alamata towns in northern Ethiopia.
The Bank said it was forced to stop its services due to the conflict in northern parts of the country.
“Following the peace agreement reached recently, Our branches in Shire, Alamata and Korem towns have started receiving money sent from abroad and locally as well as depositing money,” the bank said in a statement.
Activities are underway to expand the resumed services to other war affected areas of Tigray region to ensure that interests of customers are met in advance, the bank said.
