Addis Ababa, October 6, 2023 (FBC) – Canada commended Ethiopia’s efforts to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights for women, youth and girls and reaffirmed support to Ethiopia’s vision for prosperity.
That was said during a meeting between Ethiopia’s Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD) and Ms. Ashley Mulroney, Minister-Counselor and the Head of International Assistance at the Embassy of Canada in Ethiopia.
Their discussion focused on ameliorating of programs and projects supported by the government of Canada and identifying further project intervention areas particularly in addressing Women’s Rights, Gender Equality and peace building.
Following her discussion with Ms. Mulroney, the MoWSA Minister Ergogie noted that Ethiopia is always thankful for the support and commitment of the Development Cooperation of the government of Canada to work closely with the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs that would strengthen the existing partnership.
Meanwhile, the Canadian delegation reaffirmed that Canada will continue supporting Ethiopia’s vision for prosperity. “Canada is excited to collaborate to advance Women’s Rights and Gender Equality,” reads a statement published on the Canadian Embassy’s social media page.
It was also indicated that Canada commended Ethiopia’s efforts to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights for women, youth and girls.
