Addis Ababa, January 13, 2021 (FBC) – Bulbula Integrated Agro-Industrial Park has finalized preparations to commence operation this year.
Ethiopia has been developing Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks (IAIP) with a view to speed up its structural transformation in to industry-led economy.
The construction of Bulbula Integrated Agro-Industry is being undertaken under three phases, according to coordinator of the project at Oromia Region Industrial Parks Corporation, Yohannes Mekonnen.
First phase of the project has been fully completed while the second and third phases have reached 87 and 75pct respectively.
Some bottlenecks related to lack of water supply, treatment plant and other facilities are impeding manufacturing industries from starting their operation with in short period of time, Yohannes said.
A factory named Sheka Mordi is installing honey processing machineries in the integrated agro-industry park and making readiness to start operation as soon as required facilities are fulfilled.
Agro-Industrial Parks Development Coordination Directorate Director at Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ayalneh Abawa, to his part said, activities are well underway address challenges mentioned related to lack of some facilities and create conducive working environment in the park.
