Addis Ababa, August 24, 2023 (FBC) – The 15th BRICS Summit has decided to bring in Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as new members.
South African President and BRICS Chair Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the group has adopted the Johannesburg Declaration 2, inviting Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to become full members. They will become full members from Jan 1, 2024.
Prime Minister Modi said India has always supported BRICS expansion and that it has “deep and historic” ties with those countries who have membership.
