Addis Ababa, July 16, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopians can effectively overcome their challenges if they acclimatize reading like green legacy initiative every day, according to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD).
The Prime Minister said that books are lifelong friends.
Mentioning the need for a road free from traffic congestion, Prime Minister Abiy emphasized that there should not be a road free from ideas and books.
The Prime Minister hopes that Ethiopia will develop the read culture and its streets will be full of books.
In addition to its premises, Abrehot Library will provide books to young children in different streets of Addis Ababa to develop the reading culture, he stated.
“Children who read books today will not steal tomorrow. They will not fall under the yoke of corruption and theft,” the Premier underscored.
“Ethiopians will overcome challenges if we plant reading like a green legacy every day,” he underlined.
The Prime Minister said that the place we give to children and reading today will show us the Ethiopia of the future. “A child who does not like to books will not be able to lead the country or become a successful citizen.”
He stated that reading books is not a political issue, but a lens through which we will sit with the world tomorrow and see the world.
