Addis Ababa, November 26, 2022 (FBC) – An investment promotion event that aimed to promote Bure Integrated Agro-industrial Park has been held at Bahirdar city.
The Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, Amhara region chief administrator, Yilkal Kefale, and other senior federal and regional high officials attended the event.
Potential renowned local and foreign investors have also attended the promotional event to explore the opportunities to invest in Bure Integrated Agro-industrial park.
The Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, said that despite being in extended conflict, Amhara region is carrying out development activities that can be considered as a model of development.
Our main focus now is to overcome poverty, the minister said.
If Ethiopians can work together, it is possible to achieve change and growth in a short period of time.
He said that Debre Berhan and Kombolcha, and Bure Industrial Parks in the region will not only create job opportunities for farmers and youth in the region, but also play a significant role in modernizing agriculture and increasing technology transfer.
Melaku said that the government is preparing to start work soon by importing necessary resources to solve the problem related to energy supply.
Ethiopian Investment Commission Deputy Commissioner, Daniel Teressa, has presented ample investment opportunities and incentives the government offers to investors.
He has also discussed the policy reforms that have been undertaken to accelerate the contribution of private-sector investment to the larger economy.
Daniel has further briefed that Government is highly committed to welcome and support investors that aspire to join the industrial parks.
As a side event, some operating companies of the region and Bure IAPI have also showcased their products to attendees of the forum, as per EIC.
