Addis Ababa, December 3, 2022 (FBC) – Petroleum and Energy Authority stated that it is working to fully restore fuel depots in all conflict affected areas in North Ethiopia.
Sahrela Abdulahi, Director General of the Authority said efforts are being exerted to restore fuel depots thereby speeding up humanitarian delivery to people in need.
She confirmed resumption of fuel supply services in Hara and Kobo areas, saying that maximum efforts are in place to enable depots in Alamata and surrounding areas to restart service soon.
Maintenance works are being ramped up in Mai Tsebri, Ab’ala and Afdera areas to make stalled depots functional so that services are restored soon, according to the Director General.
Reservoirs, tankers and machines in Shire and surroundings are being repaired to resume fuel supply in the area, and damages caused to depots in Mekelle and environs are being identified so as to begin maintenance works and restore services accordingly, Sahrela added.
